LCF: Life Cycle Farming, Inc.
LCF has developed a technology to produce large quantities of high quality fish from currently unutilized plant material produced on non cultivated land. This will allow us to economically produce high protein food on a scale comparable to what modern agriculture can do by raising animals that are fed grain produced on cultivated land. However, the LCF technology will not have the pollution and environmental deterioration which are unavoidably associated with the modern agricultural technology.
The LCF technology:
- Will remove and sequester large quantities of carbon dioxide from the atmosphere, thereby reducing the largest cause of global warming
- Will significantly lower non carbon dioxide greenhouse gas emissions from animal protein production, again reducing causes of global warming
- Will restore lost forest and wetland habitat
- Will economically and environmentally produce large quantities of quality fish
The LCF technology:
- Will not use pesticides
- Will not result in nutrient pollution of ground and surface waters
- Will not lead to soil erosion
LCF will act to implement this technology at three different levels, as follows:
Home Systems for personal, family and neighborhood production. These systems will generally produce less than 1,000 pounds of fish per year and will be operated by small groups for production of locally consumed food.
Farm Systems for small business applications. These systems will be operated as business entities, similar to small family farms, and generally will produce less than 100,000 pounds of fish per year for sale as well as personal consumption.
Industrial Applications for large scale production. These will be major operations producing food on a large scale. Generally they will harvest plant material from thousands of acres and will produce large quantities of food for mass marketing and distribution.
